Bihar Weather Update: Light Rain Expected in 12 Districts, Temperature Drop Likely

Cyclone Dana continues to impact Bihar, heavy rain expected in five districts

Patna: The dry weather in Bihar is set to continue due to westerly winds, though a slight dip of 1 to 3 degrees Celsius in the maximum temperature is expected over the next two days. However, the minimum temperature is not likely to see any significant change, according to the Meteorological Center in Patna. Meanwhile, a western disturbance is expected to remain active in the western Himalayan regions on March 19.

Rainfall Alert for 12 Districts in the Next 24 Hours

In the next 24 hours, light rain accompanied by thunder and lightning is expected in East Champaran, West Champaran, Sheohar, Sitamarhi, Darbhanga, Muzaffarpur, Madhubani, Jamui, Banka, Munger, Bhagalpur, and Katihar districts. This forecast has raised concerns among farmers, as the rain may affect the standing wheat crop.

Rain Expected in 13 Districts Between March 21-23

Between March 21 and 23, light rain is also expected in 13 districts across north-east, south-central, and south-east Bihar. Meanwhile, the minimum temperature has seen an upward trend in most parts of the state, including Patna.

Temperature Trends in the Last 24 Hours

Patna recorded a minimum temperature of 23.8°C, while Kishanganj registered the lowest temperature in the state at 16.0°C. Light rainfall was recorded in some areas, with 1.8 mm in Dobhi (Gaya), 1.5 mm in Aurangabad, 0.2 mm in Imamganj (Gaya), and 0.1 mm in Bhagalpur.

The maximum temperature in Patna was 34.6°C, an increase of 1.2°C from the previous day, while the highest maximum temperature in the state was recorded in Buxar at 37.3°C. Most cities, except Sasaram, Arwal, Aurangabad, Gaya, Nalanda, and Banka, saw an increase in daytime temperatures.

Patna and its surrounding areas remained dry due to westerly winds. However, partly cloudy conditions in some places provided slight relief in the evening.
