Bihar Workers Rescued from Silkyara Tunnel Receive Warm Welcome in Patna
PATNA – The workers evacuated from Silkyara Tunnel in Uttarakhand were brought to Patna by aircraft on Friday. Minister of Labor Resources Department, Surendra Ram met all the five laborers from Bihar and their families who arrived at Patna Airport and inquired about their well-being.
The government had made arrangements to bring them. They will also be given benefits of the schemes run by the department and assistance will be provided at all levels, the minister said.
The five workers from the state rescued from the tunnel include Sabah Ahmed of Bhojpur, Sonu Kumar Sah of Saran, Sunil Kumar of Rohtas, Virendra Kishu of Banka, Deepak Kumar of Muzaffarpur. Their family members present in Rishikesh have also come with them. District wise labor officers have been deputed to take all these workers to their homes.
During this, Principal Secretary of the department, Dr. B. Rajender, Special Secretary, Alok Kumar and Deputy Secretary to the Minister, Rajvardhan, other senior officials of the department were also present.
