Bihar’s Electoral Landscape Gears Up with 7.64 Crore Voters for Upcoming Lok Sabha Elections

Patna – In a significant update, the Bihar State Election Commission has released the final voter list for the upcoming Lok Sabha elections, revealing that a staggering 7 crore 64 lakh voters will exercise their franchise in the state. This announcement follows the directives of the Election Commission of India, and the comprehensive voter list was officially published on January 22, 2024.

The compiled voter list spans all 243 assembly constituencies across Bihar, encompassing a total of 7,64,33,329 eligible voters. Among these, male voters constitute 4 crore 29 thousand 136, while female voters account for 3 crore 64 lakh 1 thousand 903. The third gender category comprises 2 thousand 290 individuals, showcasing a notable increase in the male-to-female ratio from 907 to 909.

As part of a special campaign, the Election Commission has made significant adjustments to the voter list. Post October 27, 2023, the names of 28,95,191 voters were added, while 16,85,844 names were removed. Consequently, the total number of voters witnessed an increment of 12,09,347 during this period, with male voters increasing by 5,78,766 and female voters by 6,30,597. These modifications took place between October 28 and 29, 2023, under the Special Brief Revision-2023. Additionally, a special campaign was conducted on November 25-26, 2023.

To facilitate the addition of names to the voter list, both online and offline options are available. Citizens can utilize the Voter Helpline App or visit voters.eci.gov.in for online assistance. For offline applications, individuals can visit their block, sub-division, or district election offices. Furthermore, the Voter Helpline at 1950 is also accessible for support. The special campaign days for this purpose were held on December 2-3, 2023, ensuring a comprehensive and inclusive electoral process for the citizens of Bihar.
