Bihar’s Homegrown Film Kariyatthi Premieres in Patna, Deputy CM Vijay Sinha Attends Special Screening

Patna: The much-anticipated film Kariyatti premiered in Patna today at JD Mall, marking a significant moment for Bihar’s regional cinema. Hosted by the Bihar State Film Development and Finance Corporation (BSFDFC), the special screening aimed to celebrate local filmmaking talent and promote cultural diversity in Indian cinema.

Directed by National Award-winning filmmaker Nitin Chandra, Kariyatthi has been entirely crafted in Bihar, featuring a cast and crew composed entirely of local talent. Chandra, the founder of Champaran Talkies Private Limited, has long championed regional storytelling and cinematic excellence.

The event was graced by Bihar’s deputy chief minister and minister for art, culture, and youth, Vijay Kumar Sinha, as the chief guest. Speaking at the premiere, Pranav Kumar, managing director of BSFDFC, said: “We are proud to support Kariyatthi, a film that showcases the strength of Bihar’s film industry. This premiere is a step towards fostering more local productions.”

The screening, held at Connplex Theatre, JD Mall, was attended by film enthusiasts, industry professionals, and supporters of regional cinema. Kariyatthi is expected to make waves with its authentic storytelling and deep-rooted connection to Bihar’s cultural landscape.
