Patna: Following the success of Operation Sindoor — the Indian Army’s strategic military response to a terror attack in Pahalgam — major railway stations across Bihar have been lit up in the colours of the national flag as a tribute to the armed forces.
The East Central Railway (ECR) announced the initiative as a mark of respect for the bravery displayed by Indian soldiers during the operation, which saw the destruction of several terror camps across the border.
Stations shine in tricolour tribute
Stations including Patna Junction, Pataliputra Junction, Rajendra Nagar Terminal, Jaynagar, Madhubani, Saharsa, Jhajha, Samastipur, DDU, Gaya, Hajipur, Darbhanga, Bapudham Motihari and Sonpur are among the key sites now illuminated with saffron, white and green lights.
Speaking on the gesture, Danapur Divisional Railway Manager Jayant Kumar Chaudhary said, “The tricolour lighting has received overwhelming support from the public. Operation Sindoor is not just a military success, but a unifying moment of national consciousness.”
Symbol of national resolve
According to ECR officials, the move is part of a broader effort to honour the sacrifices and courage of Indian troops and to instil a sense of patriotic pride among citizens. The symbolic lighting underscores India’s collective stand against terrorism and the unity shown by public institutions in such times.
Operation Sindoor was launched in retaliation to a deadly terrorist strike in Pahalgam on April 22. The operation has been widely praised for its swift execution and effectiveness, reinforcing India’s commitment to combating terrorism with firm resolve.
