
Patna: A ceremony was held at Technology Bhawan in Patna on June 10 under the chairmanship of Sumit Kumar Singh, Bihar’s Minister for Science, Technology and Technical Education, to celebrate the achievements of MIT Muzaffarpur.
The event included a felicitation of the minister by the principal of MIT, who highlighted the institution’s recent accomplishments. Sumit expressed appreciation for the institute’s progress and encouraged continued efforts toward academic excellence.
A key highlight of the event was the presentation of the MIT Distinguished Alumni Award to Lallan Kumar, MLA from the Pirpainti Assembly constituency and an alumnus of the 1996 batch in Electrical Engineering. Lallan took the opportunity to request the minister to upgrade MIT into a technical university.
In response, Sumit offered a positive assurance, stating that the government would actively pursue the process. The registrar of MIT and the head of the mechanical engineering department were also present at the event.
