BIPARD Hosts Workshop to Shape Bihar Vision Document 2047

Patna: The Bihar Institute of Public Administration and Rural Development (Bipard) held an inter-departmental consultation workshop in Patna on Monday to draft the Bihar Vision Document @2047. The event, hosted at Hotel Taj, brought together representatives from over 30 state departments to share their collective vision for Bihar’s long-term development.

The workshop was attended by more than 60 dignitaries, including Bipard Director General K.K. Pathak and Dr. B. Rajendra, Principal Secretary of the General Administration Department.

Addressing the gathering, K.K. Pathak underscored the importance of collaboration. “This workshop is an important step towards building a prosperous and developed Bihar by 2047. Bihar’s progress is possible only when all departments work together in a collaborative manner,” he said.

Echoing his sentiments, Dr. Rajendra added: “The vision document of Bihar @2047 will give concrete form to the aspirations of the state as well as provide solutions to specific challenges. Our collective effort will create a future that is sustainable, inclusive and transformative.”

The workshop focused on fostering coordination among departments to prepare an integrated development vision. Participants presented departmental strategies and goals leading up to 2047 while discussing the state’s developmental challenges and the utilisation of existing resources.

Representatives engaged in discussions and activities, including a session to propose a tagline centred on the theme Developed Bihar 2047.

Abhilasha Sharma, Commissioner of the Mahatma Gandhi National Rural Employment Guarantee Scheme (MGNREGA), outlined the Rural Development Department’s vision, emphasising social empowerment and environmental sustainability. Meanwhile, Agriculture Department Secretary Sanjay Agarwal highlighted plans to empower the rural economy through improved agricultural productivity, innovative practices, and technological integration, aiming to position Bihar as a leader in agribusiness.

The workshop concluded with a consensus that while departmental visions are significant, coordinated efforts are critical to achieving Bihar’s developmental milestones by 2047.

The Bihar @2047 Vision Document, incorporating these goals and strategies, is set to be released by Chief Minister Nitish Kumar on 26 January 2025. It will serve as a roadmap for Bihar’s future, focusing on infrastructure development, economic progress, education, skill development, and social inclusivity.
