BIPARD Hosts Workshop to Shape Vision Document for Bihar @2047
Gaya: The Bihar Institute of Public Administration and Rural Development (BIPARD) organized a significant Consultation Workshop at NITI Shala in Gaya to craft the Vision Document for Bihar @2047. This initiative aims to design a comprehensive roadmap for Bihar’s development as India approaches its centenary year of independence. The Vision Document focuses on sustainable and inclusive strategies to tackle developmental challenges while leveraging Bihar’s unique strengths.
The workshop was inaugurated by Bihar’s Chief Secretary, Amrit Lal Meena, who participated via video conferencing. Highlighting Bihar’s advancements in education, health, infrastructure, and economic development, he emphasized the need for systemic reforms to achieve long-term goals. He stated that the Vision Document will serve as a blueprint to make Bihar self-reliant, sustainable, and globally competitive by 2047.
Sriram Taranikanti, Director of the Lal Bahadur Shastri National Academy of Administration, chaired the event. He underscored the importance of data-driven policymaking and collaboration in addressing gaps in infrastructure, education, health, and governance. He advocated for a detailed and actionable Vision Document with measurable strategies to ensure development.
K.K. Pathak, Director General of BIPARD, emphasized the significance of inclusivity and capacity building at the grassroots level. He highlighted that fostering equity and empowering communities are essential for achieving sustainable growth and bridging developmental gaps. The workshop also featured 20 development partners, including global organizations like the World Bank, UNICEF, UNDP, IFAD, and ITC, among others, who shared insights and innovative solutions in critical sectors such as education, healthcare, agriculture, and rural development.
The ideas discussed during the workshop will form the foundation of the Vision Document for Bihar @2047, which is set to be officially launched by Bihar’s Chief Minister, Nitish Kumar, on 26 January 2025. The launch, coinciding with Republic Day celebrations, symbolizes the state’s commitment to a prosperous and self-reliant future.
