BJP Initiates Safe Measures for MLAs Ahead of Bihar Assembly Floor Test
Patna: Following in the footsteps of the Congress, the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has begun relocating its MLAs to secure locations ahead of the imminent floor test in the Bihar Assembly. In a directive from the party high command, all BJP MLAs have been instructed to convene in Gaya by February 10. They will stay in Gaya for two days before returning to Patna on the evening of February 11, just a day before the scheduled floor test.
The commencement of the budget session of the Bihar Assembly on February 12 coincides with the presentation of a no-confidence motion against the incumbent Assembly Speaker. Subsequently, the floor test for the ruling National Democratic Alliance (NDA) government will take place, sparking intense speculation within political circles.
Presently, BJP officials are refraining from making official statements on the matter. However, speaking on condition of anonymity, an MLA confirmed the departure plans, citing a scheduled training session in Gaya related to the upcoming Lok Sabha elections. Union Home Minister Amit Shah is expected to deliver a virtual address during this training session.
The responsibility of coordinating the training camp in Bodh Gaya has been entrusted to the chief whips. Both the Chief Whip of the Assembly and the Legislative Council are actively communicating with members to ensure their participation in the training program.
With a cautious approach, the BJP is unwilling to take any chances. This caution was evident when all MLAs were abruptly summoned to Patna on Wednesday. Here, a meeting cum banquet program for the BJP Legislative Party was organized at the residence of the state party president, Samrat Chaudhary, before the sudden deployment of MLAs to Gaya.
