Body of 4-Year-Old Found in Patna School Gutter Sparks Violent Protests
Patna: The body of a four-year-old child was discovered in the early hours of Friday in the gutter of Tiny Tot Academy School, leading to violent protests by outraged locals. The deceased, identified as Ayush Kumar, a student of the school, was found at around 3 am. Following the grim discovery, angry residents vandalized the school campus and set the building ablaze.
In a bid to seek justice, Ayush’s family placed his body on the Danapur-Gandhi Maidan main road near the Bataganj petrol pump, blocking the traffic and causing further unrest. Acts of arson were also reported on the road.
The police managed to disperse the crowd and clear the school premises after considerable effort. It took approximately three to four hours for the situation to begin normalizing. The fire brigade has since contained the blaze at the school. Authorities have detained three individuals associated with the school administration for questioning, while all the teachers remain unaccounted for.
Ayush Kumar, the son of Shailendra Rai from Polson road, had a routine of staying for tuition at the school after regular classes. On Thursday, Ayush attended school as usual but did not return home, prompting his family to search for him and report his disappearance to the police.
Ayush’s uncle alleged that the school principal initially denied Ayush’s attendance that day. However, CCTV footage later confirmed his presence at the school, though a suspicious 10-minute segment had been deleted, raising concerns of tampering.
Authorities are continuing their investigation into the incident as the community calls for accountability and justice for the young boy.
