The training, organised under the direction of Chief Electoral Officer Vinod Singh Gunjiyal, was held at the Jagjivan Ram Parliamentary Studies and Political Research Institute, located on Sardar Patel Marg. A total of 146 agents representing recognised national and state political parties from the districts of Araria, Kishanganj, Darbhanga, and Samastipur participated in the day-long programme. The initiative is part of a state-wide campaign to strengthen grassroots electoral operations ahead of the crucial polls.

Throughout the training, participants were offered comprehensive insights into the fundamental aspects of electoral procedures. These included the structure, updating, and summary revision of the Electoral Roll (E-Roll), as well as the responsibilities of the Electoral Registration Officer (ERO) and the Assistant Electoral Registration Officer (AERO) in the preparation and maintenance of voter lists. Special emphasis was placed on the roles, duties, and appointment procedures of Booth Level Agents, Booth Level Officers (BLOs), and other key figures in the election process such as Election Agents, Polling Agents, and Counting Agents. Trainers underlined the importance of accurate voter records and the necessity of vigilance and cooperation at the booth level to ensure free and fair elections.

The session was facilitated by a team of experienced master trainers at both the national and state level. Among them were Rajendra Karmasheel, Sanjay Kumar Mishra, Devvrat Mishra, Ratnambar Nilay, Kapil Sharma, and Anil Kumar Patel, who led multiple training modules throughout the day. The event concluded with an open question-and-answer session, offering participants the chance to raise concerns and clarify doubts. Election officials described the training as an essential part of the electoral machinery’s efforts to increase awareness, build capacity, and uphold democratic values in the run-up to the 2025 elections.
