BPSC Aspirant Dies by Suicide, Police Probe Underway
Patna: Sonu Kumar, a 25-year-old BPSC aspirant from Paryaychak, Paliganj, was found dead in his room in Hanuman Nagar under the Patrakar Nagar police station area of Patna. Sonu, who had been living in Patna for several years to prepare for competitive exams, reportedly hanged himself. The incident came to light on Tuesday night when police reached the spot, took custody of the body, and initiated an investigation. The FSL team also collected evidence, and the body has been sent for post-mortem.
According to family members and acquaintances, Sonu had been under exam pressure for a long time. Police suspect that stress related to competitive examinations might have led to the suicide. However, other possible reasons are also being investigated. A search of Sonu’s room revealed no suicide note, leaving authorities to rely on circumstantial evidence and statements from those close to him.
This incident has heightened concerns among students preparing for competitive exams in Patna, where cases of student suicides are reportedly on the rise. The increasing academic pressure is a significant factor, according to experts. They emphasize the importance of addressing mental health issues and seeking counseling to cope with stress.
The police continue to investigate all angles of the case while urging students facing stress to seek support from family, friends, or professional counselors.
