BPSC releases interim answer key for 70th PT exam amid protests

Patna: The Bihar Public Service Commission (BPSC) has released the interim answer key for the 70th Preliminary Test (PT) examination, despite ongoing protests and calls for cancellation. The commission has maintained its stance, asserting that the exam will not be cancelled under any circumstances.

The release of the answer key comes as Prashant Kishor, founder of Jan Suraj, continues his hunger strike for the seventh consecutive day, demanding the cancellation of the exam. Kishor has vowed to persist in his protest, saying: “Whatever happens, we will fight until the demand is met.” Meanwhile, MP Rajesh Ranjan alias Pappu Yadav has announced a statewide Bihar Bandh on January 12 to support the cause.

Objections invited until January 16

The commission has invited objections to the interim answer key, giving candidates until January 16 to submit their concerns. Following this, the final answer key will be published. Candidates can access the interim answer key on the BPSC website: www.bpsc.nic.in.

Results expected in January, mains exam in April

The re-conducted 70th PT exam was held on January 4 at 22 centres, including the Bapu Examination Campus. The commission has stated that the results of the PT exam will be announced by the end of January, with the mains examination scheduled for April.

Hunger strike enters seventh day

Prashant Kishor’s fast unto death, initiated to demand the cancellation of the exam, entered its seventh day on Wednesday. On Tuesday, Kishor was admitted to the ICU ward of Medanta Hospital after his health deteriorated, but he has continued his hunger strike.

Several BPSC candidates visited Kishor on Wednesday, urging him to end his protest. However, Kishor reiterated his commitment to the cause, stating that the fast would continue until the demands are met.

The unfolding developments have intensified the political and public discourse surrounding the BPSC exam, with protests and strikes adding pressure on the commission ahead of its scheduled results release.
