BPSC Teacher Transfer: Over 1.9 Lakh Applications Under Review as Schedule Announced
Patna: The long-awaited teacher transfer schedule has been unveiled, bringing relief to many educators across Bihar. However, the process will proceed in four phases, and thorough scrutiny of applications will delay transfers for over 1,90,000 teachers.
The scrutiny will be overseen by a 16-member senior official team from the Department of Education, each responsible for verifying applications and preparing detailed checklists. Officials will provide individual comments, ensuring applications align with specified eligibility criteria. Given the volume of applications, the process is expected to take significant time.
Phased Transfer Process
According to Pankaj Kumar, Director (Primary) of the Education Department, the transfer and placement of teachers in primary, secondary, and higher secondary schools will follow a phased approach. The department has categorized applications into four distinct groups for systematic processing.
Phase 1: Priority for Critical Cases
The first phase will focus on teachers dealing with critical health conditions such as cancer, kidney, heart, and liver diseases. It will also prioritize transfers for:
– Teachers with disabilities
– Teachers appointed based on autism or mental disability
– Widowed and abandoned teachers
This phase covers 11,809 applicants, including:
– 760 teachers with severe diseases
– 2,579 teachers with chronic illnesses
– 5,575 teachers with disabilities
– 1,557 teachers with autism or mental disabilities
– 1,338 widowed or abandoned teachers
Phase 2: Spousal Placement Requests
The second phase will address 16,356 applications from teachers seeking transfers to be closer to their spouses.
Phase 3: Female Teachers Seeking Relocation
The third phase will scrutinize requests from female teachers citing distance as a reason for transfer from their current posting to a preferred location.
Phase 4: Male Teachers Seeking Relocation
The final phase will focus on similar requests from male teachers. Collectively, phases three and four cover 1,62,000 applications.
