Patna: Hundreds of candidates awaiting the Bihar Public Service Commission (BPSC) TRE 3 supplementary results launched a high-voltage protest in Patna on Wednesday, halting the convoy of Education Minister Sunil Kumar and lying in front of his car. The demonstrators demanded immediate release of the results, which have been pending for months despite the release of the main examination outcome.
The protest erupted outside the State Urdu Library in Bakarganj, where the minister had arrived for the inauguration of a new building. Chief Minister Nitish Kumar was also present at the event but left the premises before the protest began. As Sunil Kumar attempted to leave, candidates encircled his car, lying on the road and chanting slogans, accusing the government of playing with their future.
“We’ve waited long enough. The government is ignoring the supplementary result. We deserve jobs, and this delay is unjust,” said one of the protesting candidates. Police and security forces had to intervene and escort the minister out of the area.
The protesters claim that despite qualifying under all criteria, they were left out of the TRE 3 final list without explanation. “The government is procrastinating with no transparency,” said another demonstrator.
The protestors have warned of a state-wide agitation and said they will boycott every programme of the education department unless the supplementary results are published promptly.
With mounting pressure, the education department is now under scrutiny over the lack of communication and delays that have only intensified candidates’ frustrations.
