Patna: The land survey for the high-speed bullet train project is progressing rapidly in the Gaya-Koderma section of the Varanasi-Patna-Howrah rail corridor. On Monday, survey teams assessed land near Tankuppa-Paharpur station, marking a key step before the formal acquisition process begins. The project, which will transform connectivity in Bihar, has identified Manpur as a major station, making it a crucial stop for the bullet train in the Gaya region.

Spanning 799 km, the high-speed rail corridor will link Uttar Pradesh, Bihar, Jharkhand, and West Bengal, with the Bihar segment passing through Buxar, Ara, Patna, Biharsharif, Nawada, and Gaya. In Gaya district alone, 75 km of land has been earmarked for acquisition.

As part of the preparatory phase, soil testing will be conducted following the survey. According to sources within the department, authorities aim to complete the land acquisition process by the end of the year. Efforts are underway to ensure smooth coordination with local landowners so that the project progresses without delays.
