Businessman Shot in Robbery Attempt in Danapur’s Maner Area, Escapes With Injuries

Patna: A businessman was shot at during an attempted robbery in the Maner police station area of Danapur on Sunday night. The incident occurred on Usri Chitnawan Road near Mahuari Garden when a group of bike-borne miscreants attacked the businessman’s car.

The victim, Nishant Kumar, a wholesale trader of flour and bran, sustained a bullet injury to his hand. He was returning from Naubatpur and Shivala after collecting payments, accompanied by two others in his vehicle.

According to eyewitnesses, around eight assailants riding four to five bikes surrounded Nishant’s car. They broke the car’s window using an iron rod and attempted to snatch a bag of cash from him at gunpoint.

When Nishant and the others resisted and raised an alarm, the attackers opened fire. Three rounds were fired during the chaos. One bullet grazed Nishant’s hand.

Alerted by the commotion and gunshots, local residents rushed to the spot. Seeing people approaching, the miscreants fled. The robbery attempt was unsuccessful as the attackers failed to snatch the bag containing money.

Injured Nishant was rushed to a private hospital near Saguna Mod with the help of locals. His car driver, Vinay, informed Nishant’s uncle, Suraj Kumar, about the attack.

Police reached the hospital and have begun investigating the case. Manhunt operations are underway to identify and nab the accused. The area saw a large crowd gather after the incident, highlighting growing concerns over safety on the outskirts of Patna.

Despite the traumatic incident, the businessman is now stable. Police are scanning CCTV footage and taking statements from witnesses to trace the culprits.
