Patna: A major film production titled Begusarai Project is set to begin shooting in Bihar’s Begusarai district later this year, bringing with it not just cinematic excitement but also opportunities for local talent. Directed by acclaimed filmmaker Akhilesh Jaiswal, the film will go on floors in August and September and is being touted as the highest-budget film ever made in Bihar with an estimated cost of ₹12 crore.
Jaiswal, best known for his work in Gangs of Wasseypur, Mastram, A Simple Murder, and most recently Starfish, is known for his distinct storytelling and visually rich narratives. The upcoming film promises a mix of thriller, crime, drama, and will be inspired by true events from the region.
Spotlight on Local Talent and Locations
Currently, the director is scouting locations across Patna and Begusarai to identify authentic settings and select local artists. “The real title of the film will be revealed post-shooting,” Jaiswal said, adding that the project is being referred to as Begusarai Project for now.
The casting process is already underway. In a significant boost to the local arts community, auditions for supporting and minor roles will soon be held in Bihar, with details to be announced in local newspapers. The production team will also collaborate with local theatre groups and drama institutions to discover fresh talent.
