Centenary Celebrations Reverently Commenced for Bharat Ratna Jannayak Karpoori Thakur in Patna
Patna: Today marked the commencement of the centenary celebrations of the revered Bharat Ratna Jannayak Karpoori Thakur at the Jannayak Karpoori Thakur Memorial Museum in the capital city. The solemn event witnessed the esteemed presence of Chief Minister Nitish Kumar, and Deputy Chief Minister, Tejashwi Prasad Yadav, who paid their respects by garlanding the statue of the late statesman.
In addition to the chief guests, Deputy Speaker of the Bihar Legislative Assembly, Maheshwar Hazari, and other dignitaries, including Vijay Kumar Choudhary, Bijendra Prasad Yadav, Shravan Kumar, Lacey Singh, Jitendra Kumar Rai, Abdul Bari Siddiqui, and various distinguished guests, laid wreaths at the memorial.
The commemoration featured the unveiling of a biography detailing the life of Jannayak Karpoori Thakur, a documentary film produced by the Art, Culture, and Youth Department, and the presentation of the song “Jan Sevak Jannayak Jai Ho” to the Chief Minister.
Artistic tributes echoed through the air as renowned singer Satyendra Sangeet, artists from the Information and Public Relations Department, and school students paid musical homage to Karpoori Thakur.
As part of the celebrations, a promotional vehicle equipped by the Minister of Art, Culture, and Youth Department, Jitendra Kumar Rai, and the Additional Chief Secretary of the department was ceremoniously flagged off. This mobile platform will showcase a documentary film chronicling the life of Karpoori Thakur and broadcast the uplifting anthem “Jansevak Jananayak Jai Ho.”
The centenary celebrations serve not only as a tribute to the illustrious legacy of Jannayak Karpoori Thakur but also as a platform for the people of Bihar to reflect on his invaluable contributions to the state and the nation.
