Chandan Mishra Murder: Main Shooter Tausif Remanded, Revealed He Took No Advance and Altered Appearance to Evade Police

Patna: In a significant development in the murder case of gangster Chandan Mishra at Paras Hospital, the arrested accused were produced before the Patna Civil Court on Monday at approximately 4 PM. The court has sent the main shooter, Tausif alias Badshah, on a three-day police remand, while his associates Harsh, Bhim, and Nishu Khan have been sent to jail.
Following the murder of Chandan Mishra, Tausif reportedly went to great lengths to evade capture, even changing his appearance by getting a clean shave and a short haircut before fleeing to Kolkata.
Interrogation Reveals Conspiracy Details
Sources indicate that Tausif did not receive any advance payment for Chandan Mishra’s murder, reportedly carrying out the assassination without immediate monetary compensation. However, it is being suggested that a payment of Rs 5 lakh was made to the mastermind behind the plot.
Tausif underwent an intensive interrogation session lasting about four hours, conducted by top police officials including ADG Headquarters Kundan Krishnan, Central Range IG Jitendra Rana, and SSP Karthikeya Sharma, along with senior STF officials.
The investigation has revealed that the conspiracy to murder Chandan Mishra was hatched three days prior to the incident at the residence of Tausif’s cousin, Nishu Khan. After committing the murder on the morning of July 17, Tausif immediately went to Nishu’s house in Samanpura. From there, Tausif, Nishu, Nishu’s girlfriend, Harsh, and Bhim fled to Kolkata in Nishu’s car, traveling through Gaya, Barhi, and Ranchi. It was also uncovered that they had booked a hotel room in Kolkata on July 16, a day before the crime.
Accused’s Background and Escape Route
Nishu Khan, a resident of Samanpura in Patna—the same locality as Paras Hospital and from where the shooters initiated their plan and subsequently escaped—is Tausif’s cousin. Both Tausif, who identifies as ‘Badshah,’ and Nishu, who prefers ‘Bhaijaan’ and aspired to be a ‘white collar person,’ are known for their fondness for making social media reels.
The STF brought all four accused from Kolkata to Patna on Monday. Tausif was transported in a separate vehicle, while Harsh, Bhim, and Nishu were in another, with four police vehicles providing escort for the Scorpio. Upon arrival in Patna, they underwent a medical check-up before being taken to various locations, including Shastrinagar and Kankarbagh, for further investigation. Subsequently, all four were brought to the police line, and Tausif was then taken to the STF’s Abhiyan Bhawan for continued questioning.
