Chaos at Patna Junction: Passengers Miss Sampoorna Kranti Express Amid Overcrowding; Miscreants Block AC Coach Doors

Patna Junction

Patna: Over 25 passengers traveling to Delhi by the 12393 Sampoorna Kranti Express missed their train on Monday due to severe overcrowding at Patna Junction. Frustration mounted as passengers were unable to board the train, which departed with unauthorized individuals occupying reserved compartments.

Witnesses reported that several ticketless passengers entered the air-conditioned coaches and locked the doors, leaving legitimate travelers stranded on the platform. Despite repeated pleas to the Railway Protection Force (RPF) and Government Railway Police (GRP) to intervene, no assistance was provided.

Among the affected was Sushma Kumari, a Delhi University student traveling for her exams. “This has caused major inconvenience. The officials were unresponsive, and no alternative arrangements are being made,” she said.

Passengers who missed the train attempted to lodge complaints with senior station officials but found their offices closed. A formal complaint was later filed via the railway helpline, 139. Many passengers also approached the ticket-checking staff and batch incharge to request refunds and assistance.

The situation escalated when RPF Commandant Prakash Panda of the Danapur Division arrived at Patna Junction following reports of the incident. However, passengers expressed anger over the lack of immediate action and the alleged rude behavior of on-duty RPF personnel when help was sought.

“This level of mismanagement is unacceptable,” said a stranded passenger. “Trains are leaving before our eyes, and no one is accountable.”
