Chief Minister Reviews Development Projects in East Champaran, Inaugurates and Lays Foundation Stones for Schemes Worth Rs 201.12 Crore

Patna: Chief Minister Nitish Kumar visited Sundarapur village in Kesaria, East Champaran district, during the Pragati Yatra to review ongoing development works. During his visit, he inaugurated 62 schemes worth Rs 114.82 crore and laid the foundation stone for 42 schemes valued at Rs 86.30 crore, totaling Rs 201.12 crore for the district.

At the event, the Chief Minister inaugurated the newly constructed building of Upgraded Higher Secondary School in Sundarapur, built at a cost of Rs 97.011 lakh by Bihar State Educational Infrastructure Development Corporation Limited. He inspected the Computer and ICT room, interacted with students, and reviewed smart class operations. He emphasized the importance of quality education and the use of ICT tools to enhance learning outcomes for children.

The Chief Minister also inspected the playground construction work within the school premises, which includes facilities for basketball, volleyball, badminton, kabaddi, and a running track under MNREGA. He encouraged students to participate in sports and directed officials to ensure all facilities are well-prepared.

In line with the Jal-Jeevan-Hariyali Yojana, he inaugurated a pond constructed under MNREGA and released fish seeds into it. The management of the pond was handed over to Jeevika Didis. During his visit to stalls showcasing Jeevika Didi’s products, the Chief Minister praised their work and emphasized the success of the Jeevika initiative since its inception in 2006. He presented a symbolic cheque of Rs 3.35 crore to 1,26,354 Jeevika Didis as part of bank linkage financial assistance.

The Chief Minister inspected stalls set up by various departments, including Rural Development, Animal and Fisheries Resources, and Agriculture. He provided a symbolic cheque of Rs 1.2 lakh to beneficiaries of the Chief Minister Housing Scheme and handed over fish marketing kits to sellers under the Pradhan Mantri Matsya Sampada Yojana. Keys for bicycle-cum-iceboxes, motorcycle-cum-iceboxes, and three-wheeler e-rickshaw-cum-iceboxes were also distributed for efficient fish distribution.

He observed an exhibition of products under the Chief Minister’s Udyam Yojana and interacted with beneficiaries to understand the manufacturing process. The Chief Minister also reviewed agricultural initiatives, including fertilizers and mechanization schemes, and distributed keys to their beneficiaries.

Under the Kanya Utthan Yojana, the Chief Minister presented a cheque of Rs 2,000 to the mother of a newborn girl. He also interacted with child heart disease patients and provided a cheque of Rs 5 lakh to beneficiaries of the Ayushman Card Scheme. Pamphlets for housing construction were distributed to 245 landless families.

The Chief Minister observed materials prepared under the Teaching Learning Material (TLM) initiative, aimed at providing quality education. He appreciated the innovative use of local resources for teaching and highlighted efforts to ensure inclusivity for children with disabilities.

During the visit, several senior officials, public representatives, and ministers accompanied the Chief Minister, including Water Resources Minister Vijay Kumar Choudhary, Education Minister Sunil Kumar, and MLA Shalini Mishra. The inspection underscored the state government’s commitment to improving infrastructure and the welfare of its citizens through diverse development projects.
