CIMP hosts 3rd Management Case Conference with focus on circular economy, AI, and sustainable practices
Patna: The Chandragupt Institute of Management Patna (CIMP) held its 3rd Management Case Conference (MCC) on Monday, offering a platform for academics, researchers, and industry professionals to discuss a range of topics, from circular economy and fintech to artificial intelligence and sustainable energy. The conference, held in a hybrid format, attracted participants from diverse sectors keen to engage with the latest trends in management and innovation.
The event opened with a ceremonial lamp lighting, led by CIMP Director Prof. Dr. Rana Singh, who served as the conference patron. Other dignitaries present included Prof. Ranjit Tiwari, Chair of MCC 2024, and several senior faculty members from CIMP, as well as Kumod Kumar, Chief Administrative Officer of the institute. Prof. Tiwari welcomed the attendees, followed by an inaugural address from Prof. Singh, who highlighted the importance of case studies as a pedagogical tool for training students, corporate leaders, and government executives.
Keynote addresses were delivered by two prominent speakers from academia and industry. Prof. Ashutosh Dash from MDI Gurgaon discussed the attributes of a well-written business case, stressing the importance of integrating 2-3 theoretical frameworks to support classroom discussions and facilitate in-depth analysis. Kumar Ayashkanta, Group Chief Investment Officer at Wipro Enterprises, spoke virtually about the growing role of green bonds in India, using corporate examples to illustrate the evolution of green finance and regulatory interventions.
The conference featured three parallel technical sessions, where case presentations were delivered by scholars from leading institutions, including IIM Udaipur, Symbiosis University, NIT Patna, and Fore School of Management. The presentations covered a wide array of topics, such as supply chain efficiency, green finance, insolvency and bankruptcy, artificial intelligence, and sustainable water and energy management. Several corporate scholars also presented their work, providing real-world insights into emerging business practices.
A key highlight of the conference was the announcement of the best case study accolade, awarded to Dr. Rahul Kumar and Rahul Gupta from IIM Sambalpur for their contribution. Runners-up included Dr. Shinu Vig from Symbiosis Centre for Management Studies and Mr. Subroto Chowdhury, Chief Program Architect from the Association for Academic Excellence.
CIMP also announced the upcoming publication of the second edition of its Management Case Review, which will feature selected papers from this year’s presentations. The event concluded with a vote of thanks from Prof. Santosh Kumar and the announcement of the 4th MCC, to be held in November 2025.
