CIMP Hosts In-Depth Faculty Development Program on Econometric Analysis
Patna: Chandragupt Institute of Management Patna (CIMP) hosted a Faculty Development Program (FDP) from June 24-28, bringing together academicians and researchers from diverse backgrounds to discuss econometric tools for analysing financial data using Eviews. The five-day workshop included theoretical and hands-on sessions on topics such as Cross-Sectional Regressions, ARIMA Modelling, Panel Data Regressions, Vector Auto Regressions, Vector Error Correction Model, and Volatility Modeling.
The event commenced with the ceremonial lighting of the lamp by Prof. (Dr.) Rana Singh, Director of CIMP and Program Chair; Prof. (Dr.) Ranjit Tiwari, Program Chair; and Prof. (Dr.) Santosh Kumar, Program Chair. This was followed by an inaugural address from Dr. Rana Singh, who emphasized the importance of econometric analysis in financial data research and teaching.
Sessions were conducted by eminent experts, including Prof. Tarun Soni from FSM, New Delhi, and Professors Ranjit Tiwari, Santosh Kumar, and Ankit Sharma from CIMP. Prof. Soni discussed Classical Linear Regression Model (CLRM) and ARIMA Modelling on the first day. On the second day, Prof. Tiwari elaborated on Panel Data along with Fixed Effects and Random Effects Models. The third day featured Prof. Kumar discussing Vector Auto Regression (VAR) and Impulse Response Function. Prof. Sharma covered the Vector Error Correction Model on the fourth day, and the workshop concluded with Prof. Soni presenting on Volatility Models (ARCH and GARCH Models).
The FDP saw participation from sixty-seven individuals representing more than 50 institutions across India, including Chandigarh University, Ganpat University, Patna Women’s College (PWC), Kurukshetra University, Amity University, Parul University, Guru Jambheshwar University, Graphic Era University, Assam University, CIMP, AIIMS, Central University of Jharkhand, NIT Rourkela, LN Mishra College of Business Management, Ram Devi Women’s University, and Manav Rachna University. The event concluded with a vote of thanks from Prof. Santosh Kumar.
