CIMP, Industries Dept, and TiE Patna Host Avinya Bihar 2025 to Celebrate National Startups Day
Patna: The Chandragupt Institute of Management Patna (CIMP), in partnership with the Department of Industries, Government of Bihar, and TiE Patna, hosted a grand celebration of National Startups Day with Avinya Bihar 2025. The event, held at the CIMP campus, featured prominent dignitaries and industry leaders.
The Minister for Industries and Tourism, Nitish Mishra, attended as the Chief Guest. Joining him were Bandana Preyashi, Secretary of the Department of Industries, and Nikhil Dhanraj Nippanikar, Director of Handloom and Sericulture, as Special and Guest of Honour, respectively. Bharat Oswal, Vice Chairman of JITO Incubation & Innovation Foundation, participated in person, while Murali Bukkapatnam, TiE Global Chair, joined virtually. The event opened with a welcome address by Professor (Dr.) Rana Singh, Director of CIMP.
Showcasing Bihar’s Startup Potential
The event featured 20 booths showcasing innovative products by startups recognized under the Startup Bihar initiative. These included Sattuz, Ghaaspaat, Paavni, and Vaimanika Aerospace, among others. Over 300 startups participated in the event, which provided opportunities for networking, personalized consultations, and interactions with industry leaders, underscoring Bihar’s evolving startup ecosystem.
One of the highlights was the launch of the new Startup Bihar Portal (startupbihar.in), designed to provide startups with streamlined access to government resources and support. Minister Nitish Mishra inaugurated the portal and distributed seed and post-seed funding to six startups:

- Staiz Finder Tech Pvt. Ltd.
- Smilescape Hospitality Pvt. Ltd.
- Unparalleled Learning Technologies (OPC) Pvt. Ltd.
- Webzyro Technologies Pvt. Ltd.

Recognitions and Achievements
CIMP’s Business Incubation & Innovation Foundation (CIMP-BIIF) secured the top position in the Yearly Ranking for Incubation Centers of Bihar. This achievement, shared with IIT Patna in the monthly rankings, cements CIMP-BIIF’s status as a leading hub for innovation and marks its unprecedented hat-trick in the rankings.
In the Monthly Ranking of Startup Cells over the past six months, the following institutions were recognized:
- Government Engineering College, Aurangabad
- Government Engineering College, Vaishali
- Bihar Agriculture University, Sabour
For consistent performance in the Monthly Ranking of Incubation Centers, the top institutions were:
- Chandragupt Institute of Management Patna (Rank 1)
- Indian Institute of Technology (IIT), Patna (Rank 1)
- Dr. Rajendra Prasad Central Agricultural University, PUSA (Rank 2)
- Chanakya National Law University (Rank 3)

In his keynote address, Minister Nitish Mishra reaffirmed the government’s commitment to fostering a thriving startup ecosystem. He emphasized the role of Bihar’s youthful population in driving innovation and outlined plans to establish district-level startup cells for greater accessibility.
The day included a workshop by Shri Dilip Sharan on “Understanding Investor’s Psychology – The Art of Perfect Pitching,” equipping entrepreneurs with strategies to secure investments. A panel discussion, moderated by CA Pallavi Jha, Program Manager of TiE Nurture Patna, explored the challenges and opportunities facing startups in Bihar.

Avinya Bihar 2025 marked a significant milestone in Bihar’s journey toward becoming a hub for innovation and entrepreneurship, setting a strong foundation for the state’s future as a startup destination.
