CIMP Launches Students Guidance Centre to Support SC/ST Career Aspirations

Chandragupt Institute of Management Patna inaugurated its Students Guidance Centre for the 2025–26 batch, focusing on career guidance and startup opportunities for SC/ST students

Patna: Chandragupt Institute of Management Patna (CIMP) held the inauguration ceremony of the 2025–26 batch under its Students Guidance Centre (SGC) on July 10 at its Mithapur campus. The event welcomed newly admitted students and aimed to empower those from Scheduled Castes (SC) and Scheduled Tribes (ST) by raising awareness about career opportunities and employment-oriented education.

The chief guest, Diwan Zafar, Special Secretary-cum-Special Duty Officer, Department of SC/ST Welfare, Government of Bihar, inspired students by highlighting the importance of government schemes and consistent efforts. He encouraged them to work hard with self-confidence and a clear vision to overcome challenges in life.

Director of CIMP, Prof Rana Singh, emphasised that with determination, proper guidance, and effective utilisation of welfare schemes, students can achieve remarkable success. He reaffirmed the institute’s commitment to the holistic development of students from marginalised communities.

Prof Rishikant, Director of the Students Guidance Centre, briefed students about preparation for national-level management entrance exams like CAT, MAT, and XAT. He also highlighted prospects in innovation and entrepreneurship, informing them about Bihar Government’s startup policy under which 80–90% scholarships are available for the PGDM-IEV course. He encouraged students to explore startup ecosystems, fellowship programmes, and opportunities for global exposure.

Chief Administrative Officer Kumod Kumar assured students of the institute’s full support in their academic and personal development. He emphasised that CIMP is dedicated to providing all necessary resources, administrative support, and learning opportunities to help them achieve their aspirations.

Among the guests were Dr Shruti Tetrewe, Principal of Government Women’s College, and Deepankar, Block Welfare Officer, who also addressed the students and extended their best wishes, assuring all possible assistance from their respective institutions.

Prof Ankit Sharma delivered the vote of thanks, acknowledging the contributions of guests, faculty members, staff, and student coordinators. Faculty and team members including Saroj, Sumit Kumar, Vidya, B Ratnesh, Upendra Kumar, Shubha, and Suruchi played key roles in organising the event.
