City Bus Pass Facility Introduced for Women, Students, and Transgender Community in Bihar

Patna: Women, students, and the transgender community in Bihar can now avail themselves of the city bus pass facility in both AC and non-AC buses. This initiative, which covers all district headquarters in the state, aims to provide affordable and convenient transportation. The Bihar State Road Transport Corporation (BSRTC) has also introduced an online pass booking system alongside the traditional offline method. Passengers can opt for a one-day pass or a monthly pass, with women receiving a special discount along with reserved seating.
In addition to 166 new city buses that will soon be introduced across the state, this facility is already available in all existing BSRTC buses. The pass fees have been categorized based on passenger type, with monthly passes ranging from Rs. 450 to Rs. 900. A mobile pass can be purchased through the “Chalo” app, while offline passes are available at the Bankipur bus stand. To make travel easier, city buses also allow passengers to scan a barcode for digital payments.
A new tracking system has also been implemented, enabling passengers to check a bus’s live location by scanning a QR code. GPS systems have been installed in all buses, allowing real-time location updates. Mobile charging facilities have also been provided to enhance passenger convenience.
With both online and offline pass options, passengers no longer need to board the bus to obtain a pass. Instead, they can purchase a digital pass on their mobile devices or use a card pass available in all buses. The initiative is expected to improve accessibility and affordability for daily commuters across Bihar.
