CM Announces Key Development Projects for Gopalganj District During Pragati Yatra

Gopalganj: Chief Minister Nitish Kumar addressed several public demands during his visit to Gopalganj as part of the Pragati Yatra, announcing a series of development projects aimed at infrastructure improvement and public welfare. These initiatives include enhancements in transportation, agriculture, and tourism, promising significant benefits for the district’s residents.

Sugarcane farmers had raised concerns about fair prices for their produce. In response, the state government decided to increase the price of sugarcane by Rs. 20 per quintal. While Rs. 10 per quintal has already been implemented, the remaining Rs. 10 per quintal hike will be introduced soon, with the state bearing the additional cost.

To address transportation issues in Salempatti village of Uchkagaon block, a bypass of Mirganj market will be constructed. This bypass will ease travel for nearly 10 lakh residents of Vijayipur, Bhore, Kateya, Phulwaria, and Panchdevri blocks while reducing congestion in Mirganj market. Similarly, in Turkaha village, the construction of a bypass from NH-27 at Bhojpurwa to NH-531 at Turkaha was announced to complete the Gopalganj district ring road, alleviating traffic jams caused by sugarcane transport.

Further infrastructure improvements include strengthening and paving the Saran embankment from point 120 km to 152 km to aid flood protection and movement. A bypass road will also connect the Kateya Industrial Area’s milk processing unit to Vijayipur Deoria road, facilitating the movement of large vehicles and common commuters.

Other notable projects include the construction of a bridge on the Daha River between Nawada Parsauni and Dumariya village in Uchkagaon block to ensure year-round connectivity. Additionally, the Maa Thawe temple, a renowned pilgrimage site, will be developed and beautified to enhance tourism and provide better facilities for devotees.

The government also announced the construction of a four-lane road from Bankarpur in Saran to Dumariya Ghat in Gopalganj. This road will significantly improve connectivity to Patna, reducing travel time and ensuring smoother transportation for locals and visitors alike.

These announcements reflect the state government’s commitment to addressing local issues and promoting balanced development in Gopalganj district.
