CM Nitish Allocates Rs. 514 Crores for Kishanganj Development, Clash Erupts Between Youth and Police During Visit
Kishanganj: Chief Minister Nitish Kumar visited Kishanganj as part of the third phase of his Pragati Yatra, arriving three hours late due to bad weather. His helicopter landed at Karbala ground in Kathaldangi village of Thakurganj block, where he was greeted by officials and locals.
During the convoy, tensions flared when a youth alleged he was verbally abused by a policeman. The altercation escalated, with the officer reportedly slapping the youth. Superintendent of Police Sagar Kumar led the security arrangements to maintain order during the program.
Nitish Kumar, accompanied by his cabinet colleagues, inspected key sites in Thakurganj, including a primary school, the Ukraine Center, and Austria Bhawan. He interacted directly with residents and discussed the development of the minority community. Several leaders, including General Secretary Vishal Raj, Minister Jama Khan, Minister Vijay Chaudhary, MLA Saud Alam, and others, were present during the visit.
After concluding the Thakurganj inspection, the Chief Minister traveled to Halamla by helicopter, reviewing a playground, lake, and other development projects. The visit aimed to assess ongoing initiatives and approve new ones as part of the Pragati Yatra, with Rs 514 crores allocated for development in Kishanganj.
