Chief Minister Nitish Kumar on Thursday flagged off over 600 new police vehicles in Patna, aiming to boost the efficiency and mobility of Bihar’s law enforcement agencies.

Patna: Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar on Thursday inaugurated a new fleet of 520 four-wheelers and 98 two-wheelers for police use, aiming to strengthen law enforcement infrastructure and enhance mobility across the state. The vehicles were flagged off from the Chief Minister’s official residence at 1 Anne Marg, Patna.

Prior to the inauguration, CM Nitish inspected the vehicles and was briefed by senior officials on their specifications and intended operational use. “The deployment of these new vehicles will significantly improve the efficiency and response capacity of our police force,” he said, adding that it will also contribute to better law and order management across Bihar.

The event began with a welcome gesture from Director General of Police Vinay Kumar, who presented the Chief Minister with a green plant, symbolising environmental consciousness and good governance.

The ceremony was attended by a host of senior officials and political leaders, including Deputy Chief Ministers Samrat Chaudhary and Vijay Kumar Sinha, Water Resources and Parliamentary Affairs Minister Vijay Kumar Chaudhary, Chief Secretary Amrit Lal Meena, and Chief Secretary to the Chief Minister Deepak Kumar.

Other officials present included Principal Secretary to the Chief Minister Dr S. Siddharth, Additional Chief Secretary (Home) Arvind Kumar Chaudhary, ADG (Special Branch) Sunil Kumar, ADG (Headquarters) Kundan Krishnan, ADG (Provisioning) Ajitabh Kumar, Secretary to the Chief Minister Kumar Ravi, Home Department Secretary Pranav Kumar, and DG (Patna Range) Garima Malik.
