CM Nitish Kumar reviews developmental projects in Khagaria, announces key infrastructure upgrades

Patna: Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar conducted a review meeting in Khagaria district as part of the third phase of his state-wide progress tour. Held in the main conference hall of the district collectorate, the meeting focused on the implementation and status of various developmental projects across the district.

Amit Kumar Pandey, the District Magistrate of Khagaria, presented detailed updates on ongoing schemes, including the Bihar Student Credit Card scheme, Har Ghar Nal Ka Jal, Mukhyamantri Gramin Solar Street Light Yojana, and Mukhyamantri Udyami Yojana. Other initiatives, such as the maintenance of rural roads, agricultural feeders, and telemedicine services, were also highlighted.

The Chief Minister assured attendees of his government’s commitment to resolving local issues swiftly, urging public representatives and officials to identify and address the region’s pressing concerns. He emphasized Bihar’s development trajectory since 2005, pointing to significant improvements in infrastructure, healthcare, and education.

CM Nitish Kumar recalled a time when Bihar’s roads were impassable and basic services were in disarray but affirmed that the state has since undergone a complete transformation.

Several announcements were made during the review meeting, including the construction of a bridge over the Bagmati River in Alouli Block, bypass roads in multiple locations, and a medical college and hospital in Khagaria.

A team has been tasked with identifying land for the medical college, which aims to provide better healthcare access to the district. Other initiatives include building a stadium in Beldaur Block and improving road connectivity with new highways and bypasses.

CM Nitish Kumar also highlighted social welfare measures, including a commitment to provide Rs. 2 lakh to each of 94 lakh economically disadvantaged families identified through the state’s caste-based survey. He reaffirmed the government’s goal of creating 12 lakh government jobs and 34 lakh employment opportunities by the end of 2025, while commending the significant contributions of women through self-help groups, which now number over 10 lakh in the state.

The meeting was attended by key government officials, including Deputy Chief Minister Samrat Chaudhary, Vijay Kumar Chaudhary, Maheshwar Hazari, Ashok Chaudhary, and various legislators, senior bureaucrats, and police officials. Kumar concluded with assurances that Khagaria’s developmental needs would be met and reiterated his vision of equitable growth across all regions of Bihar.
