
Samastipur: Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar on Tuesday laid the foundation stone for development projects worth more than Rs 522 crore in Sarairanjan block of Samastipur district. These projects include building new roads and bridges and cleaning two important rivers to solve water problems in villages.
The Chief Minister started three big projects costing Rs 200 crore. These include a new RCC bridge with an approach road on the Kareh river in Shivajinagar block for Rs 62 crore, a bypass road from Manika to Vikrampur for Rs 42 crore, and widening and strengthening of the Rosda-Shivajinagar-Bariyahi Ghat-Bahedi road for Rs 96 crore. Officials showed him the site plans of these projects during the event.
Nitish Kumar also laid the foundation stone for cleaning silt from Balan and Jamuari rivers at a cost of Rs 322 crore. This work will keep water in the rivers even during summers and stop floods during monsoons, helping people in Samastipur, Begusarai, and Muzaffarpur districts. The Water Resources Department gave detailed information about this project to the Chief Minister.
Speaking at the event, Nitish Kumar said the government is working to provide roads, bridges, schools, and hospitals to every village. He asked officials to complete all the projects properly and on time so that people get maximum benefit. Many ministers, MPs, MLAs, and senior officers were present during the programme in Samastipur.
