CM Nitish Kumar’s Son Nishant Likely to Marry After Kharmas

Patna : Nishant Kumar, son of Chief Minister Nitish Kumar, is set to tie the knot after Kharmas ends on April 14, with wedding preparations in Delhi nearing completion. Sources close to the family have claimed that the bride is not from a political background, adding an element of curiosity to the much-anticipated ceremony.

The wedding is expected to be a grand affair, with many prominent political figures likely to attend. While Nishant has largely remained away from the political limelight, his impending marriage has stirred speculation, coinciding with growing discussions about his possible entry into politics.

A Life Away from Politics, Rooted in Spirituality

Nishant Kumar, 49, was born on July 20,1975. An engineer by profession, he completed his early education at St. Karen’s School in Patna and later studied at Manav Bharti India International School, Mussoorie. He pursued engineering from the Birla Institute of Technology (BIT), Mesra, in Ranchi. Despite hailing from a political family, Nishant has maintained a distance from politics, focusing instead on spiritual pursuits — something he has often expressed in public.

Speculation on Political Entry Intensifies

Speculation about Nishant Kumar joining the Janata Dal (United) [JDU] has been circulating for over a year. While senior party leaders have downplayed the possibility, some within the party believe that Nishant’s entry into politics could inject fresh energy into JDU. During the 2024 Lok Sabha elections, there was chatter about Nishant’s potential political foray, which has gained further traction as the 2025 Bihar assembly elections approach.

Posters advocating Nishant’s entry into politics have surfaced in recent months, and his public appearances alongside JDU leaders have only fuelled this speculation. Most recently, Nishant was seen at the Holi gathering hosted at the Chief Minister’s residence, where he was spotted interacting with party leaders.
