Congress Seva Dal Holds Chintan Shivir in Bihar After 46 Years

The 10-day camp aims to strengthen the party’s grassroots presence, induct new members, and prepare for upcoming state elections.

Patna: The Congress Seva Dal has organised a Chintan Shivir in Bihar for the first time in 46 years, launching a 10-day training camp in Gonpura village, located in Phulwari Sharif, Patna. The programme began on June 22 and will run until July 1.

Rajesh Ram, the newly appointed president of the Bihar Pradesh Congress Committee, inaugurated the camp, outlining its core aim — to effectively align Seva Dal’s grassroots strategy with the larger goals of the Congress party. The camp focuses on building party discipline, expanding membership, and mobilising support ahead of the assembly elections.

Participants from several states, including Gujarat and Arunachal Pradesh, have joined the event. Tasleem Bloch, attending from Gujarat, highlighted that the camp will train volunteers to reach out to new supporters and strengthen the party’s vote base. Another participant, Tokya Singh from Arunachal Pradesh, expressed her enthusiasm about learning the organisational and outreach processes of the Seva Dal.

Recently, Seva Dal workers also led a campaign opposing the installation of smart electricity meters in Bihar, reflecting their renewed focus on public issues.
