Culinary Brilliance Takes Center Stage at IHM Hajipur’s “Cuisine Conquest” Mega Competition
Hajipur: The Institute of Hotel Management, Hajipur, hosted “Cuisine Conquest,” a mega culinary competition that brought together the institution’s budding chefs in a display of gastronomic prowess. The event saw students competing in teams of two, with participants from all semesters and the food production diploma program pairing up.
A total of 90 students formed 45 teams, making it one of the most successful events in recent times at IHM, Hajipur. The competition’s format required participants to choose a cuisine of their comfort and craft a main course with accompaniment, along with a dessert. Judges evaluated the dishes based on presentation, taste, and culinary skill, with participants given two hours to finish and present their creations.
The dishes created by the participants represented a global culinary journey, featuring flavors from Chinese, Indian, French, and more. The high-quality preparation made the task challenging for the experienced judging panel.
The distinguished panel of judges included Rajesh Kumar, Joint General Manager, IRCTC, Patna; Brajesh Kumar, Executive Chef, Maurya Patna; and Anupam Bhushan, Executive Manager, Clarks Inn, Patna—an alumnus of IHM, Hajipur. Their keen insights and understanding of diverse cuisines elevated the competition, creating a competitive yet supportive environment for the participants.
Expressing their satisfaction, the judges commended the students for their spectacular performances and emphasized the importance of such events in helping learners thrive under pressure, bringing out their best.
Principal Pulak Mandal lauded the competition as a unique initiative that mobilized the entire student body to exhibit their creative prowess in the realm of food. Sumit Chatterjee, Head of the Department for the first semester, expressed amazement at the students’ performance, noting that it exceeded expectations.
The competition, orchestrated by Gautam Chaudhuri, Lecturer in Food Production, marked a significant milestone. With over 20 years of experience, Chaudhuri has played a crucial role in shaping the culinary skills of numerous students.
All participants received Certificates of Appreciation, while winners were honored with Trophies, Medals, and Certificates of Achievement. The entire IHM Hajipur community extends their best wishes to all participants and congratulates the winners on their outstanding culinary achievements.
