Cyclone Remal Causes Heavy Rain in Bagaha, Dense Clouds in Nalanda and Madhepura
Patna: The impact of Cyclonic Storm Remal has been felt in Bihar, with heavy rain and strong winds hitting Bagaha in West Champaran district on Monday afternoon. The downpour brought much-needed relief from the heat to the region. Dense clouds and strong winds blew in several districts, including Nalanda and Madhepura.
In light of the storm, Indigo flight 6E 663, operating between Kolkata and Patna, was canceled on Monday morning.
Once the storm passes, westerly winds are expected to blow, bringing a potential heatwave to Madhubani, East Champaran, Buxar, Nalanda, and Gopalganj. Additionally, a hot night is predicted for Patna, Darbhanga, Rohtas, and Nalanda.
The effects of Nautapa (extreme hot days) are also evident in many districts of Bihar. Intense sunlight has increased the heat across regions, including Patna, with temperatures in 14 districts exceeding 40 degrees Celsius. Buxar recorded the highest temperature over the past 24 hours at 43 degrees Celsius.
