Dense Fog Disrupts Patna Airport Operations, Causing Flight Delays

Patna: Dense fog continues to disrupt air traffic at Patna airport. Visibility remains below 100 meters, leading to significant flight delays. The first flight of the day, Air India AI 898 to Delhi, was delayed by three hours.

Several other flights, including those operated by Indigo and SpiceJet, have also experienced delays.

The airport authority attributed the delays to poor visibility conditions. While Patna airport has an instrument landing system, it is not fully functional, hindering safe landings in low-visibility conditions.

The short runway at Patna airport further complicates matters, requiring aircraft to land at a steeper angle than ideal, increasing the risk of accidents.

The delays are expected to continue as the fog persists.
