Desperate Search: Missing 16-Year-Old from Darbhanga Disappears After Being Taken to Odisha

Missing 16-Year-Old from Darbhanga Disappears After Being Taken to Odisha

Darbhanga: A 16-year-old boy from Ward 11 of Ratanpur Panchayat in Darbhanga has been missing for two years after being taken to Odisha to work as a laborer. Despite repeated pleas to authorities, the family has been unable to file an FIR. The boy, Ram Ji Sada, was taken by a contractor with the promise of a monthly wage of Rs. 4,000 but disappeared shortly after.

In 2021, a neighbor, Ajay Sada, arranged for Ram Ji to work at a hotel in Odisha through contractor Bhola Sah. The boy was taken to a place called Khasta in Odisha. A few months later, the family lost contact with him, and when they inquired about Ram Ji, they were told by the contractor that the boy had left without notice and was being searched for.

Despite approaching local authorities, including the village sarpanch and police, the family was informed that the case should be registered in Odisha, not in Darbhanga. The family has been left helpless as the contractor continues to avoid them, offering minimal compensation in installments while promising to locate the missing boy.

The family’s ordeal continues as they search for answers, with no support from the authorities. Local representatives have urged the administration to intervene and assist the distressed family.
