Dhanvi Karmakar of Kishanganj to Compete in National Under-11 Chess Championship

Kishanganj: Dhanvi Karmakar, a promising young chess player from Kishanganj, has arrived in Hyderabad to participate in the 37th National Under-11 Chess Championship at GMC Balayogi Indoor Stadium. The 10-year-old is the daughter of international chess coach Karmakar and Divya Karmakar, and the granddaughter of Ravi Mantri. Dhanvi, a fourth-grade student at Bal Mandir Senior Secondary School, is eager to showcase her talent on the national stage.

A total of 195 players from various states, including Karnataka, Tamil Nadu, Kerala, Telangana, Rajasthan, Haryana, Gujarat, Maharashtra, Assam, and Odisha, will compete in the girls’ category. The District Chess Association has extended its best wishes to Dhanvi, who hopes to excel in the competition and ultimately represent India at the Asian level.
