Dhirendra Shastri in Gopalganj: ‘I Belong to Hindutva, Not Politics’—Massive Crowds Gather as Divya Darbar Set for March 8

Gopalganj / Patna : Hindu preacher Dhirendra Shastri continued his five-day religious event in Gopalganj on Thursday, delivering the second day of his Hanumant Katha. Thousands of devotees from across Bihar, including Chapra and Siwan, have gathered for the event, with the crowd expected to reach 50,000.

Speaking to the assembled devotees,Dhirendra Shastri asserted his allegiance to Hindutva rather than any political party. “Many people are troubled by my presence in Bihar,” he said. “But I am not an ideologue of any party; I am an ideologue of Hindutva. This is Ram’s country. If we cannot tell stories here, where else will we?” He went on to declare his lifelong dedication to the Hindu faith, saying, “As long as I have life, I will live for Hindus and die for Hindus.”

‘I Will Keep Coming to Bihar’
Dhirendra Shastri further stated his deep connection to Bihar, insisting that no one could prevent his visits. “Bihar is ours. As long as I live, I will keep coming here,” he said. He also warned that any attempts to deter him would only strengthen his resolve. “If someone stops me, I will build a monastery here. If you kill me, I will be reborn in Bihar. If you tease me, I will not leave you,” he declared.

Divya Darbar Scheduled for March 8
Dhirendra Shastri’s Bihar tour, which began on March 6, will continue until March 10. His Divya Darbar, a special event expected to draw between 70,000 and 100,000 people, is scheduled for March 8.

Controversy Over Social Media Post
Meanwhile, controversy has emerged over a post from an X (formerly Twitter) account named “Bageshwar Baba,” which features an image of Mughal emperor Aurangzeb with a shoe on his face, accompanied by the caption, “One shoe for liking, ten shoes for sharing.” The account, active since August 2019, has over 78,000 followers. However, Rohit, a member of Shastri’s team, has denied any connection to the account. “This is not our account. We do not post such things,” he said.

Massive Arrangements for the Event
The event is being held at Ram Janaki Math in Bhore block, where a 60-acre site has been set up with a seating capacity of 200,000 people. Organisers have arranged parking facilities at five locations, including Radhaganj Math, Saiya Devi Temple, and Lakhrao Field, with a designated VIP parking area at Barah Bigha grounds.
