Patna: Taking a step towards women empowerment and community development, JEEViKA’s Didi Ki Rasoi (DKR) has started operations on the General Post Office (GPO) campus in the state capital from Tuesday. This marks the 22nd DKR in Patna and the first-ever to operate within a Central Government department.

On Monday, a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) was signed between Himanshu Sharma, CEO of JEEViKA, and Pawan Kumar, Director Postal Services (HQ), to formalize this collaboration.

Under this initiative, DKR will serve pure, tasty and nutritious snacks, meals, sweets and beverages to GPO employees and visitors at affordable rates during office hours. With its focus on hygiene, quality and nutrition, DKR is an example of how small initiatives can create a big impact in the community.

Speaking about the initiative, Himanshu Sharma, CEO of JEEViKA, said, “This is more than just a food initiative; it is about creating opportunities. Every meal served here is prepared with care by women who are now financially independent. Through this collaboration, we aim to take their efforts to even greater heights.”

Interestingly, the GPO campus was home to the Annapurna Canteen, which had been operating since 1980. With the arrival of DKR, the canteen has now been replaced, bringing a fresh perspective and energy to the space.

This GPO project is being launched as a pilot phase, with plans to expand DKR to all post offices across the state in the future. It reflects JEEViKA’s commitment to empowering women entrepreneurs and building sustainable livelihoods.
