District-Level After Care Cell Meeting Focuses on Rehabilitation of Children Exiting Institutions

Patna: A district-level meeting of the After Care Cell was held under the Juvenile Justice Act 2015 (Amendment 2021), Bihar Juvenile Justice Rules 2017, and Mission Vatsalya Yojana. The meeting addressed the needs of children who have left child care institutions after turning 18 years old.

During the meeting, these children were identified, and discussions focused on providing necessary certificates, education, and skill development opportunities. The Assistant Director of the District Child Protection Unit, Patna, emphasized creating a database of these children and preparing individualized after care plans to support their transition into society.

Superintendents and survey officers of all child care institutions were instructed to actively participate in the implementation of these schemes. Their role is crucial in ensuring that the children benefit from the initiatives aimed at their welfare.

The primary goal of the meeting was to ensure the rehabilitation of these children, helping them integrate into society and become self-reliant. Steps were discussed to provide continuous support and opportunities for their growth and development.
