DM Dr. Chandrashekhar Singh Takes Action on Public Grievances, Seeks Clarification from Danapur Zonal Officer
Patna: District Magistrate Dr. Chandrashekhar Singh today heard and resolved 10 cases under the Bihar Public Grievance Redressal Act, 2015 and Bihar Government Servant Grievance Redressal Rules, 2019 in his office-chamber. Seven cases were resolved on the spot, and interim orders were passed in three others.
During the hearing, the District Magistrate sought clarification from the Zonal Officer of Danapur regarding negligence and insensitivity in handling a public grievance. The case involved the encroachment of government land, which had blocked the appellant’s way. Despite previous orders, the Zonal Officer had failed to remove the encroachment. The District Magistrate expressed regret that the issue, which had been ongoing for years, remained unresolved due to the Zonal Officer’s arbitrary handling of the matter.
Dr. Singh emphasized that timely and effective resolution of public grievances was a priority for the administration. He directed a thorough investigation into the conduct of the Zonal Officer and other officials involved. Disciplinary action will be taken based on the findings. The District Magistrate also underscored the importance of implementing the Bihar Public Grievance Redressal Act and the Bihar Government Servant Grievance Redressal Rules with sensitivity and urgency.
In the hearing, the District Magistrate also directed the Sub-Divisional Officer of Danapur to submit a report after investigating the improper mutation of government land and the failure to comply with a 2017 court order.
