Drunken Headmaster Hoists Flag in Muzaffarpur, Exposing Prohibition Failures

Muzaffarpur: While Republic Day celebrations across the country were marked by patriotic fervor and the hoisting of the tricolour, a shameful incident has surfaced from Muzaffarpur, that highlights glaring lapses in the enforcement of the state’s liquor prohibition policy.

The incident occurred at Government Middle School Dharmapur Purvi, located in the Meenapur block under the Rampur Hari police station area. The headmaster of the school, Sanjay Kumar Singh, reportedly arrived in an inebriated state to lead the Republic Day flag-hoisting ceremony.

Witnesses described Singh’s intoxication as severe, to the extent that he was unable to stand upright while attempting to hoist the flag. His behaviour left the assembled villagers and students shocked. Concerned by his conduct, local residents immediately contacted the police to report the matter.

Authorities have yet to issue an official statement regarding the headmaster’s behaviour or the steps being taken against him. Meanwhile, the local administration is under pressure to ensure strict action is taken and such occurrences are prevented in the future.
