East Central Railway GM Assesses Safety and Efficiency of Gaya-Koderma-Hazaribagh-Barkakana Railway Section

ECR GM inspects railway lines in Bihar, Jharkhand

Hajipur, 4th November 2023: Anil Kumar Khandelwal, the General Manager of East Central Railway, conducted a thorough inspection of the Gaya-Koderma-Hazaribagh-Barkakana railway section today. The inspection focused on evaluating the condition of the railway track, maintenance practices, and various aspects related to railway safety.

The day commenced with the General Manager’s visit to the Gaya MEMU shed, where he meticulously reviewed existing resources, including machines and equipment. Following this, he proceeded to Gaya Junction for a comprehensive inspection. During the examination, he assessed safety measures, security protocols, passenger facilities, and cleanliness, providing valuable directives to officials. Engaging with railway workers during this visit, the General Manager gained insights into their work and encouraged a continued commitment to passenger safety and security.

The ongoing redevelopment of Gaya station was a key focus for the General Manager, who evaluated various passenger facilities slated for development. The inspection included visits to Gaya Junction and the depot, where he was accompanied by Divisional Railway Manager of Pandit Deen Dayal Upadhyay Division, Rajesh Gupta, and other officers.

Continuing his inspection, the General Manager visited Koderma, Hazaribagh Town, and Barkakana stations, assessing passenger facilities and cleanliness standards. As part of today’s inspection, he also examined Banadag Coal Siding and engaged in discussions with NTPC officials regarding coal loading improvement.

The inspection concluded with the evaluation of the Sidhwar-Sanki railway section, where the General Manager was joined by Divisional Railway Manager of Dhanbad Division, Kamal Kishore Sinha, and other officers. The comprehensive inspection aimed to ensure the efficient functioning of railway operations and enhance overall safety and passenger experience in the East Central Railway zone.
