Patna: The Enforcement Directorate (ED) has conducted a raid at the residence of Sanjeev Hans, Principal Secretary of the Energy Department in Bihar. Simultaneously, raids were also carried out at the residence of former MLA Gulab Yadav in Madhubani, Patna, and Pune. The raids are believed to be connected due to the close relationship between Hans and Yadav.
While no official statement has been issued from agencies concerned, a woman had accused both Sanjeev Hans and Gulab Yadav of sexual exploitation. According to her, in 2016, Yadav lured her with promises of making her a member of the Women’s Commission and then raped her at gunpoint. She alleged that when she tried to file an FIR, Yadav threatened her, forcing her to stay silent. In 2017, both Hans and Yadav allegedly continued to exploit her by taking her to various hotels and raping her.
The woman allegedly gave birth to a child in 2018, a fact Yadav denied, while Hans also distanced himself from the situation. Despite this, the woman claimed the exploitation continued for years. She eventually filed a case in 2021, which is currently being heard in the High Court after initially being filed in the lower court of Danapur.
