ELEGANTE 7.0: IIM Bodh Gaya’s Annual Cultural Extravaganza Fosters Cultural Exchange and Sporting Spirit
Three-Day Celebration Showcases Talent, Camaraderie, and Commitment to Community Welfare
Bodh Gaya: The Indian Institute of Management Bodh Gaya (IIMBG) recently played host to ELEGANTE 7.0, its annual cultural festival, uniting institutes from across the nation in a vibrant three-day celebration of talent and camaraderie.
Commencing on January 26, the festivities began with a Republic Day celebration featuring the hoisting of the national flag and the singing of the national anthem. The day unfolded with the inauguration of a new sports stadium, where various sports teams were introduced. Dr. Vinita S. Sahay, the Director of IIM Bodh Gaya, addressed the gathering, emphasizing the importance of leadership beyond designations.
The Chief Guest, Lieutenant PS Minhas, Commandant, OTA, Bodh Gaya, shared insights during his address and officially declared the annual fest open. The event kicked off with a vibrant cultural program, followed by a friendly cricket match between the professors and students of IIM Bodh Gaya and the team from OTA, led by Lt Minhas. The day featured various sports activities and concluded with a bonfire and jamming session in the evening.
On January 27, the spotlight shifted to sports events, with Dr. Srilekha Mishra, chairperson of Student Affairs, and Dr. Amresh Kumar, chairperson of the sports committee, leading the organization. The NAVYATA fashion show showcased participation from the Indian Institute of Design and Technology (IDT), Muzaffarpur, Bihar, and IIM Bodh Gaya. In the evening, students enjoyed performances by celebrities Aseem Sharma, singer and songwriter, and Tattva, the Delhi-based musical band.
On the same day, IIM Bodh Gaya, through the CSR committee Pragati, launched ‘Happy Periods’ to promote menstrual hygiene. Faculty members Dr. Johnson Abhishek Minz and Dr. Suman Choudhary educated students at Kendriya Vidyalaya OTA and D.A.V. Public School, distributing free sanitary pads sponsored by Niine. This impactful initiative underscored IIM Bodh Gaya’s commitment to community welfare.
January 28 witnessed the continuation of events, including a quiz, solo singing competition, and solo dance competition. Creative Dance Academy, Patna, Bihar, and IIM Bodh Gaya showcased their talents in solo and group performances. The sports prize distribution ceremony, featuring the director and guests, acknowledged achievements in cricket, football, basketball, table tennis, badminton, chess, and volleyball. The cultural prize distribution concluded the fest.
Noteworthy participation came from esteemed institutes such as NIT Patna, IIM Ranchi, St. Xavier’s, Patna, AIMK, Kolkata, IDT, Muzaffarpur, and NSIT. ELEGANTE 7.0 served as a dynamic platform for cultural exchange and sporting spirit, exemplifying the essence of a diverse and inclusive celebration.
