Emotional Farewell to Martyred Soldier Chandan Kumar in Nawada, Bihar

NAWADA: The mortal remains of Army soldier Chandan Kumar, hailing from Naromurar village in Warsaliganj, who was martyred in a terrorist attack in Poonch, Jammu and Kashmir, received an emotional farewell from the people of Nawada district. As the convoy carrying the fallen soldier reached the Hisua police station area from Gaya, a crowd gathered to shower flowers and garlands, bidding a tearful farewell to Jawan Chandan Kumar.

Nawada district administration received the soldier’s mortal remains at Tungi Mod in Hisua, proceeding towards his native village Naromurar in Warisaliganj block for the final rites. Prior to the journey, thousands paid homage at Vishwa Shanti Chowk in Hisua.

The mortal remains will be transported to the soldier’s native village by road in a special vehicle from Gaya. Following a last darshan and tribute meeting in the village, the final rites will be conducted with full state honors. People have begun arriving at the martyr’s native village to participate in the tribute meeting and the final journey.

Earlier, the mortal remains of Chandan Kumar were brought to Gaya International Airport by a special aircraft. Former Jehanabad MP Arun Kumar, LJP’s national spokesperson Dhirendra Kumar Munna, and people from Nawada paid tribute outside the airport with military honors. The body was then transported to Nawada in a military vehicle.

The emotional scenes witnessed at various locations, including Prajatantra Chowk in Nawada, reflected the deep sense of loss and patriotism. The tricolor was hoisted at multiple places throughout the city, and people, including youth, women, and school children, gathered to bid their last farewell to the martyr.

In Hisua, a tribute meeting at Vishwa Shanti Chowk, organized by former BJP MLA Anil Singh, provided a platform for hundreds of people to express their condolences.

As the convoy proceeded through Nawada city, thousands of people lined the roads, chanting slogans of Bharat Mata Ki Jai and ‘Chandan Kumar Amar Rahe.’ The emotional resonance of the song ‘Ghar Kab Aaoge’ from the film ‘Border’ added to the somber atmosphere as the martyr’s remains reached Prajatantra Chowk.
