Exhibition on Nature and Ecosystems Organized at Patna Women’s College

Patna: The Department of Geography, in collaboration with the SRISHTI Environment Club of Patna Women’s College, held an exhibition titled “Stories of Creation: Nature and its Ecosystems” on September 19, 2024, at 10:00 AM in Room No. 17. The event was organized to commemorate the Season of Creation and witnessed enthusiastic participation from students.
The event commenced with a welcome song that beautifully depicted various stories of creation, setting the tone for the exhibition. Dr. Amrita Chowdhury, IQAC Coordinator and Head of the Department of Geography, delivered the opening address, highlighting the importance of the Season of Creation. The Principal addressed the gathering, emphasizing the responsibility geographers have in protecting the Earth. She also explained the origins and significance of the Season of Creation celebration.
Students from UG Semester V played a central role in the exhibition, presenting twelve detailed models that explored the evolution of Earth, various ecosystems, and ecological processes. Despite the limited time, the students demonstrated creativity and dedication in completing their models, which were well-received by attendees.
The event was meticulously organized under the leadership of Dr. Amrita Chowdhury, with active participation from faculty members Dr. Awdhesh Kumar, Sister Anna, Meenakshi Mishra, Aishwarya Raj, Tulika Kumari, and Jahanvi. Their guidance and support were instrumental in the success of the exhibition, which highlighted the importance of preserving nature and understanding ecological processes.
