
Mango Cultivation training for Farmers in Bhagalpur
Bhagalpur: A one-day training session on advanced mango cultivation and marketing was held on Wednesday at the Krishi Vigyan Kendra (KVK) in Sabour, Bhagalpur, aiming to equip local farmers with modern agricultural practices.
The event, attended by 30 farmers from the region, was inaugurated by Dr Rajesh Kumar, Senior Scientist and Head of KVK Sabour, and Bhagalpur’s District Agriculture Officer. The programme began with a traditional lamp-lighting ceremony.
In his opening remarks, the District Agriculture Officer encouraged farmers to adopt scientific and commercial approaches to mango farming, while Dr Kumar urged greater engagement with the KVK to boost productivity through research-led methods.
Sessions throughout the day covered a range of topics, including nutrient management, pruning, and pest control, delivered by experts such as Dr Ravindra Kumar, Dr Mamta Kumari, and Dr Pawan Kumar. The District Horticulture Officer, Abhay Mandal, briefed participants on current government schemes supporting horticulture, while the Assistant Director (Plant Protection) shared insights on crop protection strategies.
